RobustRich and warming ales with a full maltiness and impressive complexity

Ellezelloise Hercule Stout

Style: Imperial Stout
Belgian stouts draw upon British and American brewing influences, avenging a country that's pretty much had its entire beer history plagiarized by foreigners.  And it all began with Hercule.  Roasty in a way that wasn't seen until this jet-black beer appeared on the scene, this ale is dry and dense with spicy yeast and astringent coffee notes.  An additional lagering on German oak lends even more complexities, as if the original collision between UK, Belgian and new-world styles wasn't enough.
