Brooklyn Sorachi Ace
New York, 4.5% alc./vol.
Other than being one of the finest saisons brewed on the left side of the Atlantic, Brooklyn Sorachi Ace also has the capability to change most people’s perception as to what it means to be a hoppy beer. Forget about grapefruit and pine. Instead, the addition of massive amounts of Japanese Sorachi Ace hops replaces all of that with lemongrass, lemon verbena and lemon peel. To paraphrase brewmaster Garrett Oliver, it adds everything about lemon without adding the lemon itself. Fabulously farmhousey, it’s an amazing example of this historic style.
